Editorial Policy: What This Site Publishes, and What It Will Not
Six rules. They explain what is here, and they explain the gaps, several things a money website is expected to carry are deliberately absent, and it is fairer to state why than to leave you wondering.
No live prices, rates or offer terms
Prices change weekly and a page cannot chase them. Rather than publish a figure that will be wrong within a month, this site explains how a product is structured and sends you to the provider for the number. Where a comparison engine does live pricing properly, that is the better tool and we say so.
Numbers are calculated or sourced, never estimated for effect
Every figure used as an example is produced by the calculator on the page or taken from a named source. Where a survey result is quoted, the sample size and the publication that carried it are given so you can weigh it yourself.
Where a fact can be checked, the source is named
Licence numbers come from the Gambling Commission's public register. Corporate changes: a brand closing, a customer base being sold, are attributed to the reporting that established them. Where we established something by direct measurement rather than from a source, the page says that too.
Where a fact cannot be established, the page says so
Several pages here decline to state something that competing pages state confidently, because the available sources contradict each other. An honest "we cannot tell you this from outside, and here is the test that will" is more useful than a confident guess.
Commercial links are disclosed on the page that carries them
Some outbound links earn a commission. Where a page carries any, a disclosure appears at the foot of that page. Payment does not decide the order of a table or the wording of an assessment, and the pages with the most traffic here, the calculators, carry no commercial links at all.
Corrections
Where something here is wrong, it gets changed rather than quietly left. The part most worth checking is the licence data, because it is the part a reader can settle without taking this site's word for it. The operator table names the licensee company, the licence number and the date the licence was granted for every brand in it, and all three are searchable on the Gambling Commission's public register, which is the authority those rows are reporting. Where the register and a row here disagree, the register is right and the row is the thing that gets changed.
What this site is not
Not advice. Nothing here accounts for your circumstances, and the pages that touch pensions, insurance declarations and tax say explicitly where independent advice is worth paying for. Not a broker, not a comparison engine, and not a substitute for reading the actual policy or contract wording, which is free to read before you buy and almost nobody does.
